The top nuclear envoys from South Korea, the United States and Japan met today (Wednesday) to seek ways to resume the long-stalled
six-party negotiations aimed to denuclearize North Korea.
South Korea's chief nuclear envoy Hwang Joon-Kook spoke to reporters before leaving for the venue in Tokyo. He said assessments over North Korea's nuclear issue will be exchanged with his counterparts Sung Kim from the U.S. and Junichi Ihara from Japan.
Hwang added that the three delegates will also discuss ways for further coordination among their nations.
Hwang is scheduled to have separate bilateral talks with the U.S. and the Japanese envoys during his three-day stay in Tokyo.
