All-new GV80 is designed and engineered to deliver a powerful statement, both visually and from behind the wheel. Helping to deliver on its promise are a pair of turbocharged engines - a 304PS, 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol and an all-new 278PS 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel.
The 2.5-litre petrol engine features a dual fuel injection system that combines the advantages of direct injection (GDI) and multi-point injection (MPI). GDI technology delivers an in-cylinder cooling effect and optimised combustion efficiency, particularly in cold and high-load conditions.
Drive Mode and Terrain Mode
The Terrain Mode System allows drivers to tune the 4WD system, the E-LSD, the traction control, the engine, and the transmission to effectively deal with a wide variety of off-road situations. Offering three choices of terrain - mud, sand, and snow - it adapts the sophisticated powertrain technology to ensure all-new GV80 can handle even the toughest challenges.
Making its debut in all-new GV80 is the 278PS 3.0-litre diesel, which offers class-leading power, refinement and efficiency. Featuring an in-line six-cylinder layout it is both exceptionally smooth and quiet in operation, while the lightweight aluminium construction brings efficiency gains and dynamic benefits.
Eight-speed automatic standard across the range
An in-house developed eight-speed automatic transmission is standard on all-new GV80 and has been optimised for all the engines. Featuring a Centrifugal Pendulum Absorber (CPA) torque-converter that balances engine vibration and harmonics, this transmission offers outstanding NVH performance, enhancing the premium refinement of all-new GV80.
At the heart of the all-wheel drive system is an advanced electronically controlled limited slip differential (E-LSD), which distributes power between left and right rear wheels according to the driving environment and the level of available traction. Up to 100 per cent of rear power can be sent to either wheel to ensure all-new GV80’s journey continues uninterrupted even in challenging terrain.
All-new GV80’s cutting edge, ADAS technology includes:
◾ Highway Driving Assist II (HDA II) - This system helps assist the driver in a wider variety of situations than before, including during lane change maneuvres when the turn signal is used, and when others merge in front of you.
◾ Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning (SCC-ML) - A world first, SCC-ML incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) to independently learn the driving characteristics of its driver.
◾ Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) - This system may help automatically bring all-new GV80 to a stop in certain situations where there is a risk of collision with an approaching vehicle detected on the left or right side of the intersection. All-new GV80 may also help detect potential collision risks in certain situations, for example where a pedestrian is sensed in close proximity to the vehicle while in motion.
◾ Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA): When operating the turn signal switch to change lanes, if there is a risk of collision with a rear side vehicle, BCA provides a warning. After the warning, if the risk of collision increases, BCA automatically controls the vehicle to avoid a collision.
◾ Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM): connected with operation of the indicators, it provides live video on the 12.3-inch instrument cluster of any vehicle that’s been detected in the rear lateral blind spot.
◾ Lane Follow Assist (LFA) - Helps maintain vehicle position in the centre of its lane by recognising both lane markers and vehicles traveling ahead. and more.
