Simit recipe
1 /2 cup of warm water
1/2 cup of warm milk
10 gr instant yeast (I used instant yeast in this recipe, I have a sourdough simit recipe in my old post and on my youtube channel)
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
3.5 -4 cups flour
1 tablespoon of butter
In a bowl, mix the yeast, warm water, milk, sugar and leave it for 10 minutes. Add flour and salt knead, add butter at last and continue kneading. If the flour is not enough, you can add half a cup more. Leave the dough to rest for 1 hour. Divide the dough into 6 pieces. roll out the each piece in long strips as in the video, be careful not to be too thin or too thick. Shape it as in the video and join the ends . Repeat it for 6 pieces. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of molasses or maple syrup with half a glass of water. Dip the shaped dough to the first in molasses and then sesame water and place on a baking tray . Leave to ferment for another 20 minutes. . Bake it in a preheated 200 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
If you want, you can cut and put mozeralla in between .Cook an egg with butter in the middle of the simit😋
