Paramount light is one of the simplest one-light techniques in principle: with smaller modifiers like the 70cm octabox I'm using here you just have to check your setup carefully to make sure you're not getting any crazy shadows. Paramount light takes its name from Paramount Studios: they made this lighting style famous in the Hollywood golden age, in studio portraits of their movie stars. The session was shot on medium format, using a Fujifilm GFX50S/63mm f2.8.
