AI models can be uploaded and run across a distributed network using the open-source, peer-to-peer, decentralized Cortex (CTXC) blockchain platform, which is built on Ethereum. The goal of the Cortex platform is to make AI more accessible by making it simple to construct decentralized applications (DApps) and incorporate models into smart contracts. Similar to standard contracts, smart contracts are implemented as blockchain protocols rather than being written on paper.
Until the Cortex team, there was no known method for effectively and deterministically facilitating on-chain machine learning models. Consequently, the goal of smart contracts was undermined by DApps using off-chain conclusions, including machine learning models. The goal of Corex was to fix the issue with the Cortex Virtual Machine, which ran on the GPU instead of the CPU. On the Cortex blockchain, the Cortex Virtual Machine (CVM) aims to enable effective machine learning. The platform makes it possible to incorporate machine learning models into decentralized apps and smart contracts. The whitepaper states that Cortex's ultimate objective is to improve as a token that works with all AI models. In order to accomplish this, Cortex 2.0 aims to provide enhanced security and performance for the Cortex chain as well as a more extensive core technological architecture enabling on-chain AI integration in smart contracts.
