Darth Nihilus was originally a force sensitive human male who was present during the detonation of the mass Shadow generator at the battle of malachor 5. The death and destruction caused him to become a wound in the force. When there is a great loss of life, the force itself can become injured, with Nihilus being the embodiment of that injury. Nihilus body would be consumed and he would become a spirit with an insatiable hunger to consume life. Nihilus would eventually learn how to consume the life force of entire planets, making him one of, if not the most powerful Sith lord to ever exist.
