Captain Staffan Bengtsson makes a ship-wide announcement to passengers to explain an earlier code bravo announcement on the brand-new Norwegian Bliss cruise ship.
Code bravo is a term that is used by the crew of a crew ship when trying not to alarm passengers. About fifteen minutes before the announcement you hear in this video, a code bravo was announced over the ship's public address system and responding personnel were asked to go to the deck 4 incineration room. A few minutes later, another announcement asked the incident team to meet at the deck 4 elevators.
After about a fifteen minute period with no further announcements, the Captain made the announcement you hear in this video.
This incident happened on a brand new cruise ship, the Norwegian Bliss, one of the top ten largest cruise ships in the world. The ship was en route from Miami, Florida, to Cartagena, Colombia, during a Panama Canal cruise. This was only the second voyage where paying passengers were travelling on this new ship.
The Norwegian Bliss was being repositioned to the Pacific ocean, where she will do Alaska cruises out of Seattle, Washington, during the summer Alaska cruising season.
At the time of this incident, the ship was in the middle of the Caribbean, approximately half way between Cuba and South America.
