In this Video, I show how to get to the East Island early using a Teleport Trick and also showing that the Races on the East Island are available despite the East Island not unlocked yet.

At the very beginning of the Video, I try and show yet another Teleport Trick which will teleport you to the EXACT SAME SPOT inside Leaf Links, but apparently it doesn't work on PS2 and only works for PSP of which I saw a Video on. After failing with that one, I show the second Teleport Location.

After the Story Mission "When Funday Comes" the Races become unlocked on the West Island as well as the East Island. Just take a trip over there if you want to them earlier.

Note that the same thing is the case in LCS. Once you pass "Grease Sucho" and "Booby Prize," you can go to Staunton Island or Shoreside Vale and complete the Races before Staunton Island or Shoreside Vale become unlocked.
