Looking forward to getting back into the bush in #Botswana. Love close encounters with gentle giants like this. Grass forms part of an elephants diet. An elephant will pull a clump of grass from the ground with its trunk and beat it against its leg to shake to dirt away.

Elephants spend roughly 10 to 15 hours a day eating, and the amount of grass they ingest varies according on the season and area. They eat more grass during the wet season and more tree bark, twigs, and leaves during the dry season. Elephants often use their feet to dislodge grass, and they then dust it off in order to remove the sand. Removing the sand helps their teeth to last longer. 🐘❤️😍
