Ukraine has liberated dozens of settlements in the south, including Kherson, the regional capital of strategic importance. After eight months of Russian occupation, locals rushed to the streets to welcome the Ukrainian defenders. Kherson residents raised Ukrainian flags on the central Freedom Square on Nov. 11, a day that had already been called historic for Ukraine.
