A Kingdom Culture of Perseverance
1. Developing a Culture of Persistence in Intercessory Prayer
Eph 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints (perseverance – endurance, to remain faithfully the same)
Dan 10:12-13 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
1 Tim 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (saved and delivered is God’s will)
Gal 4:19 I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you
Persistent intersessional prayer brings salvation and breakthrough
My parents had to persevere in prayer for my salvation
Persistent Intercession is not changing God, his mind is already made up, the reason perseverance is so powerful it puts pressure on demonic forces that are trying to hinder the will of God
We had to persevere in intercession in order to birth Freedom
Some things will never happen without perseverance in prayer
Lk 11:8-10 if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you everything you want—just because of your persistence. And so it is with prayer—keep on asking and you will keep on getting; keep on looking and you will keep on finding; knock and the door will be opened. Everyone who asks, receives; all who seek, find; and the door is opened to everyone who knocks.
2 Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2. We Must Develop Perseverance in the Promises of God
Heb 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
While you’re waiting on the promises of God, stay broken and thankful for what He’s already done and for what he is about to do
This brings enjoyment on the journey to where your headed
Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering, for He who promised is faithful
3. We Must Persevere and Remain Faithful in Every Season
Matt 25:21 His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.
The faithful will always be rewarded – when we accomplish what God wanted in the season, then promotion comes
Lk 19:17 he said to him, Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities.
Prov 28:20 A faithful man will abound with blessings
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
