Kolonaki, meaning “small column" in Greek, got its name from a small column located in the center of Kolonaki Square. The area extends from Syntagma Square to the base of Lycabettus Hill, the highest point of Athens. Kolonaki is full of parks and gardens and is characterized by classic and modernist buildings, which make it one of the most exquisite neighbourhoods in Athens. Kolonaki is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the center of Athens and you should visit it if you like shopping or you just want to spend a relaxing day watching the people, while drinking a coffee. In Kolonaki you will find art galleries, luxury brands, modern boutiques, exclusive shops, elegant restaurants, cafes and bars. The shops are spread around Kolonaki Square and in the surrounding streets and alleys.
