Checking your cervix is not difficult, but you need to know what signs to look for and how it should feel. Don’t worry about your hands not being sterile, washing them is good enough.
Start by using the same position each time putting one foot on a low stool is best and inserting your finger all the way into your vagina, reaching up and back until you feel the top.
First step 2 steps on how to check cervix position
Step # 1.
Your cervix can be felt on the underside of the tip of your finger.
If you do not feel your cervix, try pressing on your lower abdomen.
Just be sure to do this each time you do a cervix check since consistency is vital for accurate charting.
Step #2.
Use your finger to gather any mucus that may be on the cervix. Be sure not to squeeze the cervix. While gathering the mucus, observe your cervix’s firmness, position, and openness. Draw a finger out and check any mucus you have recovered using the suggestions mentioned earlier.
