Beijing authorities have given an update on the investigation into the case of three doctors who were beaten by family members of an expectant mother. The woman was giving birth for the second time and had requested a cesarean section, but was denied by the doctor on duty at Peking University First Hospital after deciding that there was no basis for giving one. The woman's husband has been detained, and considering her daughter was a university freshman who had been forgiven by the doctors, police put her on bail pending trial as the investigation continues.
