A couple fair matches just before next season starts, with Sachiel the 4th Angel, Kiryu Kai and DESUTOROYAHHHH!!! I'm doing fair matches because all units are the same level, and I don't have Sachiel at a usable level yet for ranked. Fair matches aren't the best way to test out new gold units because the meta there is a bit different than in ranked. Everything is lvl 20, so 4 stars can easily overpower 3 stars. However, that's not the case with Sachiel. He held his own much better than I anticipated.
Sachiel is a tanky 5 cost ground unit with excellent damage output. He can only hit ground units and does not have piercing, despite his rather long distance looking attack animation. On death he explodes just like Burning Godzilla, except Sachiel does not need to charge his, so it will always do the same amount of damage no matter how long he's been on the field. They pack quite a punch too, Sachiel will leave a dent in pretty much anything that crosses his path. And let me remind you, this is a lvl 20 gold unit going up against lvl 20 4 stars. He has potential to be one of the best 3 stars in the game if decently leveled. He is basically a poor man's Burning Godzilla, so if you have to choose between the two, definitely go with Burning. But if you want to use both hell go for it, they work great together.
Kiryu Kai is the new evolution for Kiryu, to get him Kiryu simply needs to die twice in the battle. It was kinda hard to get good footage of this guy because sometimes the game ended too soon lmao. Kiryu Kai is a bit stronger than regular Kiryu, and has a long distance maser cannon with about the same range as Ultima. The range boost will make walking Kiryu much better, but when it comes to team fights I prefer regular Kiryu because he always has aoe. Kiryu Kai does still have the missile volley but only when an opponent gets in close. Overall a good enough addition to the game, but he's seriously lacking in the animation department. The guy hardly moves at all, he's so stiff. Maybe all the budget for him went into his attacks, cause they are really cool looking.
I gave Destoroyah quite a bit of shit when I first used him in his debut season. Going so far as to write an entire rant in the description of the vid. He was horrible back then. But using him now he's definitely gotten better with the few buffs he's received. Destoroyah is now easier to evolve and a bit stronger too. I've gotten him to fully evolve multiple times reliably, and it never felt impossible. The aggregate form can be placed behind something slow like Sachiel to prevent him from going up too fast. The flying form evolves much faster now and clutch dodged a few attacks in the vid. Perfect form walks very slow so you can stall heavily with him and make some serious pushes. He also has some beefy stats and hits hard. Still though, I wish the perfect form had aoe or something more impressive. Single target is just disappointing considering you have to evolve him twice. And Destoroyah is massive, he should be able to hit more than one thing. The larvas are cool but don't often do anything significant and still get wiped by aoe pretty easily.
So...about next season. Not gonna lie, it's looking kinda shitty. Battra is getting an hp buff... Yes you read that correctly, one of, if not, the best unit in the game is getting buffed. But on the bright side Desghidorah and Hedorah are becoming leaders. Does that make up for the Battra buff? Absolutely not. This proves Toho doesn't know jack shit about the high rank meta. They said these changes were made because the units have a "low victory rate compared to their usage rate" Well here's the thing, everybody and their goldfish uses Battra because he's broken as shit and everybody gets stomped on by the whales who are sick and tired of using Battra and would rather use other things like Ultraman and Leo, who are also absurdly broken but less boring to use. So the victory and usage rates should not be what they look at when balancing units. They need to start looking at actual battles or y'know actually play the game? Cause It really feels like Toho doesn't even play their own game. How could they possibly think Battra needs any buffs? They are either lazy, don't care, or are genuinely stupid, and It's infuriating. I sincerely hope this buff is a typo like how they messed up MKG's attack speed or something. We still don't know yet. It also could be Battra leader getting buffed, who needs all the help it can get, but they would have specified if it was for the leader. I haven't even talked about anything else in the patch notes, like how we aren't getting a new unit in December which is gonna be a huge missed opportunity for Toho to make some Christmas bank. Well enough ranting, I could continue but I feel like this description is long enough. I'm probably only gonna make two vids for the new leaders next month, stay tuned
