Carmenere is originally a Bordeaux grape that found its new home in Chile and almost all of it now grows there. Initially thought to be a Merlot, the Chileans a few decade figured that this was the Bordeaux grape. This a a value wine with a slightly green side to it whilst it burst with red fruit.
