U.S. interest in the next generation of vertical lift aircraft has captured the attention of the defense industrial base. The DoD and industry worked together to form the Vertical Lift Consortium to improve the long term state of military vertical lift aircraft and the U.S. vertical lift industrial sector. By combining and improving existing mechanisms and developing new technologies, the U.S. Armed Forces hope to replace many of its existing rotor- and aircraft with a more versatile and advanced version that is applicable to modern warfare. This event will discuss the vision for FVL, particularly the vision for increasing aircraft commonality, and what it can bring to the fight in terms of increased capabilities and productivity. Understanding this vision is a key element in identifying the road ahead for this government and industry collaboration.
