Does carbon dioxide feed plant life? Of course it does.

So then, do rising levels of CO2 in the atmosphere simply increase plant life? No, it doesn’t.

You see, the planet absorbs about half of the 37 billion tons of CO2 that humans generate each year. Both the land and the oceans sequester carbon, and, like plants on land, the phytoplankton in our oceans converts CO2 into oxygen. But trees are dying because of increased forest fires, plants are dying because of more draughts, and phytoplankton is dying because CO2 is both warming and acidifying our oceans.
