Whip Nae Nae rapper Silento got arrested Monday, Feb 1, 2020, and charged with murder after his cousin got shot and killed in DeKalb.

Police responded to a shots fired call on January 21. around 3:30 am and found Silento's cousin dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators said they believed that his cousin knew the residents at one of the houses on Deep Shoals Circle, where his body was found. After a thorough investigation, DKPD identified Silento as his cousin, and the person responsible for his murder.

Responding officers were able to gather video from multiple residents' security cameras. The videos showed several cars fleeing the scene at high speed, and the footage captured at least one gunshot. Eight bullet castings were collected at the scene.

Detectives are still working to uncover a motive for the shooting.
