Welcome to Step 3 in the set of tutorials Teaching Young Kids How to Snowboard.
This video is all about Initiating Turns - how to put together the heel and toe sides that we learned and practiced in Step 2.

Go when conditions are good, and take as long as you need! Be patient, and remember that little kids can't go on for very long. Their muscles are not fully developed, and they don't last as long in the cold. Make sure your child feels comfortable on the snowboard, and turning from side to side, before moving on to Step 4 Snowboarding Together with your child. It's always a good idea to go back over step 2 to remind them what it feels like to lean on the heels or the toes. And remember - every kid is different, so check out all the tips and tricks, be patient, and have fun!
