Pianist Tigran Hamasyan, who enjoys international fame despite his young age, performed at the Special Events Auditorium of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts during his four day tour in Armenia.
Tigran performed with his trio (Sam Minaie, bass; Ari Hoenig, drums).
During the concert the musicians enchanted the audience with their skill of performance and beauty of the music they presented. The pieces performed were mainly original compositions from Tigran Hamasyan's new album "Fable".
The flute player of famous Armenian rock band Bambir joined the trio for the last two pieces performed.
Tigran Hamasyan was born in Gyumri (Armenia) in 1987. From the age of 2 he showed an extraordinary interest towards music. The First International Jazz festival of Yerevan in 1998 opened a new stage in his creative life. In April 2003, Tigran participated in the "Jazz a Juan Revelations 2003" contest and won the first prize in the category of Jazz Instrumental. Tigran won the 1st prize and also public prize of Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition, which took place in July 2003.
