This film is OFFICIALLY not listed for the Academy Awards (™) but only because it is so blisteringly original and has so much complexity and depth that it would have won all of the Oscars (™), even ones it wasn’t up for, and probably some Nobel Prizes too. Hollywood would have been forced to shut down for another two years to recover and from that point on no film would be able to feature a cat without being accused of being derivative.
