Australia has been described as “the lucky country” mainly because it is a so-called “first world” country, far from most of the world's trouble spots. While the country has its problems, most people living in Australia enjoy a reasonable standard of living.
Australians literally have a continent to themselves, and for the most part their population lives in temperate areas, thus it’s generally somewhat pleasant weather for most of the year.
To add to this, they have amazing beaches (thousands of them), rich mineral wealth, a somewhat liberal government with great healthcare, decent public schools, roads, and public transport.
