In Halifax, minister of health and wellness Michelle Thompson announces new measures to improve emergency care in the province. These measures include providing additional staffing and logistical support to emergency departments, creating new funds for training paramedics, and directing patients with less acute needs towards more appropriate care providers to relieve pressure on emergency rooms. The minister is joined by Karen Oldfield, president and CEO of Nova Scotia Health.
