Norwegian People's Aid has been working with mine dogs all over the world for 18 years. Not a single dog has died during this time. But health care options are limited in secluded areas, and most of them don’t get the health monitoring they need.
With the support of BNS Container and Jan F Andersen, we have built a new mobile veterinary clinic. By providing proper health care we can get one or two years more out of each dog, which is a tremendous amount in terms of square meters we then get cleared.
Since 1992 Norwegian People's Aid has cleared more than 49 million square meters of land in Cambodia. The goal is to finish by 2025. Between 3 and 5 million mines and explosives still remain in the ground, caused by a conflict that the local population are still victims of today. Over half the victims of these accidents are children.
