We were delighted to welcome back the St. Petersburg Men's Ensemble. Their program included fragments from Rachmaninoff's 'All-Night Vigil' and Russian folk songs. 'In the Dark Woods' is about a peasant who complains while planting his field with flax seeds that a sparrow is stealing the flax shoots. He threatens to catch the little bird and pluck its feathers, so it stops stealing his crop.
