If you're anything like me, you don't want the farm fresh vegetables you've been enjoying from your garden all summer to go away once it's starts snowing. Here in Wyoming that snow can start as soon as the first week in October. So on this small farm we make the most out of every square foot of greenhouse space we have to plant winter vegetables that we can harvest in January.
If you have any kind of greenhouse or even a cold frame you can do everything I talk about in this video. You just need to follow the winter planting schedule below, and protect with 1-3 layers of floating row cover.
The key is staying on schedule, and experimenting every year, because each climate and context is different. But who knows, you might be filming your own winter gardening/farming experience and posting it on YouTube in a few years and pushing the envelope way farther than me!
There is SO MUCH potential with this, we just need more growers doing it!
