Ponce, Puerto Rico From The Air 2019
What a beautiful day in Ponce. This city was founded in 1692 and it is well-preserved. This is my first time here and I loved the city. We visited the Parque de Bombas, or the old firehouse built in 1883. This was Puerto Rico's first firehouse. We walked around the cathedral and had some local ice cream. Then we went up to the Museo Castillo Serralles and the Cruceta de Vigia for some great drone footage. We could have spent the entire week in Ponce. There is so much to see and do. This is the home to the Paseo Tablado La Guancha, a place that we still need to visit. Also, this is where the island Caja de Muertos is located and where I want to visit as well. So many great things, and so little time.
About the cross. El Vigia Cross (La Cruceta del Vigia ) is a 100-foot tall cross-shaped observation tower, located on top of Vigia Hill in Ponce. It is directly behind the Serralles Castle museum. The Cross is a 10-story vertical tower that has a glass elevator. It takes you up to the horizontal "sky bridge".
