(7 Dec 2018) The foreign ministers of China and North Korea met in Beijing on Friday amid stalled efforts to persuade Pyongyang to dismantle its nuclear weapons programs.
Ri Yong Ho, who arrived in Beijing on Thursday, met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
Ri is expected to be briefed on the discussions last week between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump, who recently announced that his next meeting with Kim would likely happen in January or February.
Ri's visit also comes amid intense speculation over the possibility that Kim will visit South Korea this month.
