Day 12 into Vientane's lockdown, I take my first long walk in almost 2 weeks to show you around the centre part of the city. I walk alone, with a face mask & take all precautionary measures. As you will see, the streets of Vientiane are pretty much empty. Only a few vehicles & pedestrians are seen in this vlog.
I pass by some road checkpoints with police & guards, but they did not stop me from walking around. I make this video for you to see how well the Lao government has responded to the covid outbreak here. People are following the rules, & the quick action & widespread rule following, is, as of now, controlling the spread of covid19 in Vientiane.
The streets have an eery feel to them, obviously. An almost apocolypse feel, I walked a few minutes at times without seeing a single person, motorbike or vehicle.
Let's hope Laos nips this in the bud & people can continue with daily life, business & travel.
