Stunning display of artillery in place at the Rzeszow-Jasionka airport which has now been turned into a NATO base 300 kilometers south of Warsaw in Poland. Footage shows numerous MIM-104 Patriot mobile surface-to-air anti-missile ballistic defense systems erected on the airport grounds by the US army. These safety measures came in place after the small airport became an official NATO base on March 7th 2022, two weeks into the war invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Prior to that date, this airport did not serve any military purpose and was only used by commercial jetliners to carry passengers and cargo. With the arrival of two million refugees crossing the border only 100 kilometers east of Rzeszow, the airport became the main hub for transportations of goods for the Ukrainians. Among others, weapons are also being sent through this strategic location close to Ukraine for the ongoing war hence the heightened level of security and military protection.
