The Implementation of the Amendments to the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act is Coming Soon
Occurring Simultaneously to the launch of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway Expansion to Manzanilla is the introduction of new laws under the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Amendment Bill which was debated and passed in both houses of Parliament. The new legislation will implement tighter measures towards road safety and improve the states ability to closely monitor and speeding other driving violations. This is a novel and groundbreaking attempt at the motor vehicle traffic management and policing that will place Trinidad and Tobago in par with more advanced countries.
The new Law will introduce the Red Light Camera System, the Demerit Points System and the modernized Fixed Penalty System. Most certainly, we cannot embark on a drive to improve the road network and expand it without moderninsing the manner which we manage same. For this reason, we should all look forward to look forward to the legal instruments that will make travelling safe to all.
