MY DAILY 'GO TO' WATCH!

The MSAR Artic is perfect daily wear watch. The bracelet is comfortable, yet the weight and solidity of the case lends to a feeling of having something substantive on my wrist.

I wear watches from 34mm to 40mm case sizes and the MSAR at 36mm is perfect for me. Best of all, it's 'tool watch' and milspec nature means that I don't have to worry about baby it like other swiss watches.

Bonus, it's such an interesting design and brand that it's a great conversation starter.

BUILT LIKE A BANK VAULT

A beautiful and rugged watch; the case is strong as a bank vault and the white dial is striking. A curious blend of toughness and fashion. The 36 mm size is exactly right for those of us with smaller wrists, and the style is retro cool--totally clean, functional, and reliable. The Swiss automatic movement keeps superlative time, which is after all the primary function of any watch. Rated to 1000 feet but I won't be diving anywhere close to that depth. Nice to know that I could, however. A first-rate timepiece that is almost too nice to call a tool watch!

I remember reading the review on Hodinkee for the Arctic MSAR and enjoying the idea of taking a watch out on a road trip and outdoor adventure to write a review. Cole, the author, was clearly impressed, and gushed a little, but also dug deep and pointed out a lot of the details that make this 36mm tool watch so impressive. My overall impression it's tough, considered, and cool, and wears bigger than you'd think. Very happy camper here.
