The Tragic Event: The stampede took place in Phulrai village of Sikanda Rau tehsil. Devotees had gathered to seek blessings from Bhole Baba, and in their eagerness, they rushed to touch his feet. Unfortunately, chaos ensued, and people fell into a nearby drain.
Exceeding Permitted Limits: The state government revealed that the number of attendees exceeded the administration’s permitted limit at the venue. This overcrowding led to the tragic stampede.
Government Response: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased. A team has been formed to investigate the causes of the tragedy, and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
