This video answers the questions: Is there any way to predict extraversion? Does color preference really predict extraversion?
High extraversion is usually considered socially desirable, although certainly has its drawbacks, just like any score on any of the big five personality traits. There is no perfect personality and there is no ideal level of a single personality trait.
On the positive side of extraversion, we see his associated with happiness, success in social environments, being promoted at work, and a number of other positive outcomes.
On the negative side, extraversion is associated with grandiose narcissism, talkativeness, substance use, and risk-taking.
The six facets of extraversion:
Warmth: friendly, kind
Gregariousness: talkative, spontaneous, outgoing
Assertiveness: confident, enthusiastic, aggressive, dominating
Activity: energetic, always want to be busy, in a hurry
Excitement-seeking: adventurous, courageous, bold
positive emotions: optimistic, cheerful, happy
