About the Speech:
Mr. Voegele addressed the interlinked challenges of alleviating poverty, meeting global food needs and lowering carbon emissions. He highlighted the vital role played by the World Bank in meeting these challenges and fostering economic and social development. Just days before the 2014 UN Climate Summit, and one year before countries aim to conclude both a new global climate agreement and an updated sustainable development agenda, Mr. Voegele’s address came at an important time.
This is the third event in the 2014 Development Matters series, which the IIEA is co-hosting with Irish Aid.
