Religion clearly plays a diminished role in Canadian society compared to even a few decades ago. But new polling suggests the reasons for that aren't entirely obvious, or what you might expect. In fact, it's not even clear that people connect God and religion as they once did. For insight, we welcome: Sarah Kathleen Johnson, professor of liturgy and pastoral theology at Saint Paul's University; Alyshea Cummins, instructor of religion in the College of Humanities at Carleton University; and Michael Higgins, inaugural Basilian Distinguished Fellow of Contemporary Catholic Thought at the University of St. Michael's College.
