Durex creates a series that challenges sexual norms, which goes hand in hand with the Durex Brand mission: to challenge society’s sexpectations and to normalize what real, good sex is for everyone without discrimination or judgement.
In this video interview Sarah Mulindwa, a sex clinic nurse, explains why members of the gay community are more at risk and what they can do to minimize the hazards.
Gay men should regularly screen, from 3-6 months, even if they are taking the medication that can stop them from becoming HIV positive – PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis). In the last couple of years there has been a reduction in new HIV cases but other STIs are on the rise.
Whoever you are having sex with, your sexual orientation or how often you have sex, remember, the best and only way to help protect yourself from STIs is with a condom.
If you felt this was good advice from Sarah, let us know.
It’s always great to hear from you.
