I purchased a new charcoal chimney starter. I purchased what is claimed to be the largest available, the Ultimate Chimney Starter, by Best of Barbecue, a brand of outdoor cooking accessories by Steven Raichlen. I bought it because it is bigger than the Weber Rapidfire. I really like the Weber brand but wanted something a bit bigger. Will this Ultimate Chimney starter be as tough at the Weber? Time will tell.
ABOUT THE CAPACITY OF BOTH CHIMNEYS:
in this video I mention that the Ultimate chimney holds about 8½ pounds of charcoal. Some places online claim it holds only 7 pounds. That may be so. The information that it holds up to 8½ pounds came from this Ultimates Chimney promotional video [ Ссылка ]
The Weber Rapidfire claims to hold 100 briquettes (average size). According to some research that I did online, with the leading brand of charcoal briquettes , there are 18 briquettes per pound. Therefore 100 ÷18 = 5.555, so thin a Weber Rapidfire Chimney would hold a bit less than 6 pounds.
