외식업체 5곳 중 1곳 배달앱 이용…배민 연매출 1조 돌파
The pandemic has driven more consumers in South Korea to order food in... rather than visit potentially-crowded restaurants.
This has resulted in more restaurant owners joining hands with delivery apps over the past 12 to 18 months.

Since the start of the pandemic, more restaurants in South Korea have been offering delivery services... and new data shows that nearly one in five restaurants in the country now use food-delivery apps.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Monday... almost 20-percent of restaurants used delivery apps last year... up 8-point-7 percentage points compared to the previous year.
The number of Japanese restaurants that used these apps soared by more than 27 percentage points on-year... and usage by bakeries also went up by 26-percentage points.
By sales... restaurants with higher revenues tended to use delivery apps.
Over 28-percent of restaurants with total annual sales of more than 440-thousand U.S. dollars used the apps.
But delivery apps were only used by 6-point-4 percent of restaurants that had sales of less than 44-thousand dollars.
On average, restaurants paid about 300 U.S. dollars a month in delivery app fees... up 13-point-3 percent on-year.
Through this... the country's largest delivery app company, Bae-min, saw its revenue soar last year to about 965-million U.S. dollars.
This is up about 95 percent compared to the previous year.
The company saw an operating profit of 51 million dollars, and a net profit of 18-point-8 million dollars.
