No cycling today. We went to JB for a date! Couldn't get an earlier timing when we booked the train tickets online ([ Ссылка ]) two weeks ago; SG to JB 12.30pm; JB to SG 7pm.
It is cheaper to book separate one-way ticket if you are departing from Singapore. SG to JB is S$5 while JB to SG is RM5. If you book two-way departing from SG, total will be approx S$10 (RM16.25 x 2).
Board at Woodlands Train Checkpoint - quite a few ways to reach there. We took bus 856 from Marsiling MRT (only 3 stops).
At SG side (Woodlands train checkpoint), you gotta clear BOTH customs before boarding the train so do arrive early to queue for the gate to be opened (gate opened 30min before your scheduled train) to allow sufficient time to clear both customs. We were somewhere in the middle and it took us 25min to clear both customs (it as a Saturday); so it was only a short wait after boarding that the train departed.
Surprised to see so many cars queuing to enter JB on a saturday noon. I thought only in the morning such jam will occur.
After arriving in JB (JB Sentral), you alighted from the train and you are free to go anywhere. JB Sentral is linked to Citysquare mall via a sheltered walkway on one side, while the other side, is a long sheltered link way to R&F Mall.
When coming back to SG, it is as per normal where you clear Malaysia custom at JB Sentral and then SG custom when train arrive at Woodlands train checkpoint. Clearance took about 15min each for us.
