(HOLLYWOOD, Fla.) The new Memorial Breast Cancer Center facility officially opened its doors nd is ready to provide comprehensive gold standard oncological services under one roof as part of Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI).
The freshly-minted19,000 square-foot facility is located at Memorial Regional Hospital.
The freestanding center will provide patients the ability to access the entire specialized treatment team in one visit, forming a one-stop-shop for MCI’s comprehensive services that include Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Chemotherapy/Infusion and Radiation Oncology Services.
The center will accommodate 700 new breast cancer patients a year while making room to serve the next generation of survivors.
“The expansion looks to further increase the quality of care, comfort, and convenience for patients, while optimizing physician care and coordination,” said Maggie Wiegant, vice-president of Memorial Cancer Institute.
With the proximity of providers within arm’s reach, the center will introduce newly diagnosed patients to the entire treatment team while providing an individualized care plan.
In addition to cancer treatment, the facility provides other Women's Health Services, such as cancer screenings, support groups, cancer education, and exercise and nutritional classes to strengthen the mind and body.
