I added explanation in english to this vid. Use cc.
In this vid I show you a dutch tradition, which we call "carbid schieten" (carbid shooting).
The substance carbid stands for calcium carbide. When you add water to it an explosive gas called "ethyn" exists. We put a bit calcium carbide in a milk can and add an amount of water to it. After this we put a football tight on top of the milk can. Below the milk can we attached a spark plug. After halve a minute we let a spark appear and BAM! We have fun. I hope you like the vid.
The amount of water for a 60l milk can:
0 degrees;theoretical 6.58ml
0 degrees;practical 16.44ml
10 degrees;theoretical 6.34ml
