The government today put up a spirited legal fightback at the Supreme Court, to rescue the Finance Act 2023, following its recent invalidation by the court of appeal. The lawyers representing the five petitioners including the Cabinet Secretary for Treasury, the Attorney General, the National Assembly, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Kenya Revenue Authority, argued that there was adequate public participation prior to enactment of the Finance Act 2023.
