Here we are very lucky to have a Fender Custom Shop Master Built '57 HSS Relic Strat by Dale Wilson. This is based on a '57 Strat but is very much its own thing, with several hybrid style touches that set it apart from a straight reissue.

I love this type of design, borrowing heavily from the early Van Halen approach where you take a classic Fender guitar and Modify it to become a monster, player's guitar! This particular guitar features a super-rare Teal Green Metallic over 3 Tone Sunburst finish, with a three ply mint green HSS guard! This added with sublime Master Built Relic ageing makes this a really stand out guitar to look at.

The neck is a stunningly figured AAA grade one piece flame maple with a classic feel but a super easy to play modern style with it's flat 9.5 radius and 6105 frets. Big over-bends with a low action are no problem here!

Plugging in this guitar.....BIG tone is an understatement! The fat sound of that EVH Wolfgang bridge pickup kicks out LOUD! What's really amazing is it retains it's classic Strat characteristics so well, too, giving this guitar so much mid-range character in this position. Switching to the 2nd position, the EVH splits perfectly with the hand wound Texas Special. Massive over-exaggerated Strat sound here (think instant SRV.) Middle and neck position are much the same: BIG exaggerated Strat tones that make you want to play SRV style blues all day. Anyone who has heard or used Texas specials before will know what they are about but the hand-wound ones in this top of the line guitar sound as good as it ever gets!

All in all, it's a very collectable and very versatile instrument with stacks of tone! Only wish I could afford it!
