"We shouldn't tacitly accept unnecessary deaths from COVID and assume that there's nothing that can be done," says critical care physician Dr. Adam Gaffney.
"We need universal healthcare so that people have all medical conditions covered. So that people — regardless of whether it's COVID or another infection or another chronic illness — do not need to worry about going bankrupt because they need to see a doctor or go to the hospital."
