Welcome back to another pottery tutorial! This week we will show you how to do the first part of making a simple lidded form: making a flange on the pot! There are a lot of different ways to make a pot with a lid, but this is an easy version to start with if you are just beginning to experiment with lidded forms. In part 2 we will cover how to make the lid!
**NOTE** You do not have to have the green rib that I used in this demonstration to make a flange. All you need is a rib that has a 90 degree angle on one of the corners that is wooden or plastic. A metal rib is a little thin for this application. Happy potting!
