this is what youre seeing:
setup: pilot selects ACQ SRC to the waypoint so that when the pilot fires, the waypoint position is referenced for the target area
1: The common problem. George told to use LOAL and HI trajectory (or LO result is the same). George will not fire from this position/attitude in loal.
2: LOAL Manual shot, Self OR Buddy Lase. George set to LOBL and then to WAS gun (the step before hellfire on the weapon selection), have him select a target. We will be taking the shot manually as the pilot having george lase. re check ACQ SRC and set traj as desired. you do not have to select loal/lobl anywhere. this is automatically set if the laser is seen or not by the missile when launched. if you have a solid small box you have a valid launch solution. shoot, tell george to switch to hellfire and he will automatically turn on the laser because he is in LOBL mode. missile will track the spot.
For buddy lasing/jtac this process is the same except you do not need george. just set you ACQ SRC and take the shot.
3/4: LOAL George taking the shot and Self Lase. Get LOS of the target you told george to select. select LOAL mode as desired. be a reasonable distance away from the target. put aircraft ADL (fixed diamond on IHADS) on the target for a better chance of success. Press and HOLD the command fire button until missile leaves the rail. George will automatically switch laser on at appropriate time from impact, missile guides to target
