Breaking the South Crater Entrance, get in the Ngauruhoe lava flow. Ascending to the Red Crater, you can see the top of the Mount Tongariro and the Oturere Valley in the east.
Passing the Emerald Lakes and the Blue Lake by cautiously down the Central Crater Edge which filled by the Red Crater Laval flow less than 1800 years ago.
