Day 8 (June 7) on the GDMBR northbound: we experience the wild beauty of Chaco Canyon's high-desert landscape and the friendly Native Americans. We bike from Grants to the Chaco Trade Center, 75 miles of wide open mesas, wild horses, solitude and endless views. And, it’s so much fun blazing through the endless tunnel of heat when shared with wonderful people - thanks for being in this adventure with us @zachandasabike !

We encounter few people, but those whom we meet are so friendly, open, and generous: The reverend at a remote church offers us shade, water and conversation; throughout the reservation land, Native Americans greet us and check whether we are okay on water and supplies, and at the Chaco Trading Post, we are offered free camping and coffee in the morning. They love cyclists and we gladly took the offer!

We enjoy a special sunset dinner with Zach and Asa in this unique setting in the desert.
